Book Review: Allegiant…Shocking Conclusion you have to read for yourself

The shocking ending to the Divergent series by Veronica Roth is finally here. Roth didn’t hold any punches in this surprising conclusion to the series racking up a huge death toll similar to the conclusion of other series makers like JK Rowling and Susan Collins. However, Roth’s character changes are braver than any other author and risks leaving the readers very mad or worse unsatisfied.

(Warning semi-spoilers). Without giving any spoilers the concluding book has some interesting revelations much like Hunger Games or even the Truman Show where you learn there is a much bigger picture than you thought possible. I did find myself mad at several points throughout the book and it wasn’t due to the plot development but some of the further character development.  Of course Roth is trying to teach you a lesson about the human disposition and even goes so far to have Tris say, “no matter how smart, people see what they are already looking for” to show you the flaw in humanity. She also tells us that love doesn’t always conquer all and people are all a bit damaged.

All in all it was a good series for the dystopian fantasy of our possible apocalyptic future. If you haven’t picked up the series yet now is a good time as it is all wrapped up and no waiting a year to get to this shocking conclusion. Roth has all written several short stories between the books that you might enjoy written from the perspective of “Four”, the damaged heartthrob,
Of course the movie of the first book in the series is already in production so read the series now so you can see how Hollywood fulfilled your imagination of the book or destroyed it. Share your thoughtand reviews at
